The deal is done, and the Fulton Police Department now officially is preparing to make the move to the old Callaway Electric Cooperative building at 503 Truman Rd.

"We closed on Friday. (Now) the police department's coming up with a plan as far as what changes need to be made to the building," Fulton Director of Administration Bill Johnson said Monday. "The building is incredibly functional, but it's designed and laid down as an electric utility building. We need to put in some holding cells and interrogation room, add some additional security.

"It's still going to be several months probably before (the police department) gets moved in."
