Funnel cakes, livestock shows, demolition derbies and tractor pulls - it's that time of year again. The 33rd annual Kingdom of Callaway County Fair is just around the corner with opening day on Monday, Aug. 1.

There are a couple new features and some old favorites on tap for the county fair. This year opening day will be on a Monday, instead of, as in year past, a Tuesday. Events on Monday begin at 4 p.m. with the 4-H conference judging. With a non-perishable food item - which will be donated to SERVE's food pantry - participants can gain fair entrance for free on Monday. All other days, general admission is $10 for adults, free for those 12 and under or $35 for a season pass. The season pass covers the cost of all activities at the fair except food and carnival rides/games. The fair will run from Aug. 1-6.
