AUXVASSE - Taking the family out to the park to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air is one way to pass summer days. The Auxvasse City Park Committee is hoping to improve the city's two parks - Domann Memorial and Mottaz - so more families will choose to patronize them.

In an effort to raise funds for park improvements, the committee is throwing its first Open Air Craft/Collectable/Hobbie Fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. Vendors will sell their wares or food on Main Street. The committee still has space available and asks vendors to join in by renting a space for $20. The fee for rental spots goes toward the park fund.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
