The stories are well-documented about professional athletes - be it rookies or established players - who have squandered their substantial earnings on frivolous spending and dubious hangers-on.
Jake Czeschin believes he can provide the platform to a more firm financial footing for those professionals, both during their careers and then when their playing days are over.
Czeschin - a 2000 Fulton graduate - created a conduit for that pursuit when he formed Sports Wealth Group, an independent LPL Financial company located in St. Louis that focuses on offering financial planning to professional athletes.
"... My ultimate, personal goal for them is to help them manage their money well enough so that when they're done playing - whenever that is - that they can live the rest of their life doing what they want to do, not what they have to do," the 29-year-old Czeschin said during a recent interview. "... You can still live a great lifestyle; it's like live a great life now so you can live a great life when you're done."
