William Woods women fall against Western Illinois

MACOMB, Ill., - The Lady Owls had a tough night all around, leading to a 73-52 exhibition loss to NCAA Division I Western Illinois on Tuesday night. The defeat will not count against William Woods' record, leaving them at 7-4 for the season.

Senior forward Megan Aubuchon led all Lady Owls scorers with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. William Woods shot 42.3 percent from the field in the first half but still found themselves down 39-25 at the break.

The second half wasn't much better as they converted just 8-of-27 field goals for a 29.6 percent clip. The Lady Owls also completed just 1-of-9 3-point shots and went 13-of-20 from the free throw line for the game. The Leathernecks went 42.5 percent from the field for the game and led by as many as 34 points with just under nine minutes left in the second half.
