Bulldogs bump off Thunderbirds behind fourth-quarter rally

December 14th, 2011 in News

KINGDOM CITY - To commemorate the rivalry game with the South Callaway Bulldogs, the North Callaway student section chose to employ the "10-point Silent Night."

To put it simply, the home crowd would remain relatively silent for as long as the Thunderbirds stayed in single digits.

But once sophomore guard Justin Menard scored a layup to put North Callaway up 11-8 with less than 2 minutes left in the first quarter, all bets - and silence - went away.

The crowd didn't die down much after that on either side and it was the Bulldogs' contingent that left the court talking loudest. South Callaway came back from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to best the Thunderbirds 43-37 in the Mid-Missouri Conference opener for both teams Tuesday night.
