The Fulton Hornets wrestling team started North Central Missouri Conference competition with a 42-33 victory over Boonville in Wednesday night's home opener at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.
Fulton - notching wins by pinfall in four weight classes - improved its dual record to 2-0. The Hornets were coming off a third-place finish at the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament last Saturday in O'Fallon.
"I'm pretty happy with our young guys - our freshmen and the other kids who haven't been with the program before," Fulton head coach Eric Hudson said of Wednesday night's win. "Some of the things that they need to work on, we're talking about it with them and then they're going back and fixing them."
