Singing is Carissa Biele's passion.

Not many years ago, Biele didn't take her singing very seriously. It was more of a hobby. However, that all changed when her father, Ron Biele, passed away in 2006 from cancer. That was when she decided to delve into music.

"I just decided I was going to do it, because life's really short," Biele said.

Slowly, the Fulton native started making her voice known. She is still working toward that end by performing at different venues around the area. Her next local performance will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the Junior Lake dock on the William Woods University campus. The show is free and open to the public.
