New federal aid may help build local biodiesel plant

A developer of a biodiesel production plant in Fulton said Tuesday he is interested in a new $510 million federal program providing aid to biofuel plants.

Three federal agencies have teamed up to offer incentives to make production of biofuels more feasible.

The Obama Administration Tuesday announced the three federal agencies are offering a total of $510 million in federal taxpayer grant incentives to private agencies to develop advanced aviation and marine biofuels.

The three federal agencies are the U.S. Department of Energy, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the United States Navy.
