As students throughout Fulton head back to school today, Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers reminds area drivers - and students- to be careful when traveling to and near schools.
Myers said that he will have extra officers in all Fulton school zones today watching for speeding and people parking illegally when dropping their children off and picking them up.
"We started getting complaints about people parking in areas where it's illegal to park last year, so we'll be watching that carefully," he said. "If we can get everybody on the right track to begin with, hopefully that can get us on the right road (all year)."
Although this increased presence is something the Fulton Police Department does at the start of every school year, Myers said it is especially important this year with Fulton Public Schools consolidating bus routes.
