Summer barbecues are all about enjoying good weather and good food with good friends.
On Aug. 14, officials with Our House are hoping to add a good cause to that list.
The organization - which operates Haven House, a homeless shelter for families, and Wiley House, the overnight shelter for homeless men and women - will be hosting its second annual fundraising barbecue from 4-7 p.m. on Aug. 14 in the parking lot between First Christian Church and the Callaway County Public Library.
Our House Director Brad Sheppard said the event will have all the staples: Hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, chips, ice cream, snow cones and cotton candy. There also will be a bounce house and live music from the DCW Band, from Mexico.
