A Fulton man was killed at 4:23 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a vehicle while he was walking in the roadway along U.S. 54 near County Road 220 in Callaway County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported David L. Riley, 40, Fulton, was walking in the U.S. 54 roadway just south of Kingdom City when he was hit by a 2008 Honda driven northbound by Maranda N. Herst, 21, Fulton.
Herst's vehicle sustained moderate damage and Herst was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Riley's death was the 10th fatality for 2011 in the 13-county Troop F area of the patrol in Central Missouri.
