No injuries after fire at St. Louis University building

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Saint Louis University officials say no one was injured when a fire broke out at a science building on campus.

University spokesman Jeff Fowler says the fire was reported Thursday evening at Macelwane Hall. The fire was on the third floor.

Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson says the fire was under control within 15 minutes. No one was in the building at the time.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage have not been determined.

Fowler says crews are replacing windows on the third story but they were not in the building when the fire started.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports there are no hazardous chemicals in the building. The third floor is mostly faculty offices and a neuroscience research lab.
