A Fulton man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly using a stolen vehicle to strike two people, according to the Fulton Police Department.

Joseph Buccholz-Belcher, 22, has been charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and leaving the scene of an accident.

At 3:55 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of East 7th Street following a report of the incident. Upon investigation, officers determined Buccholz-Belcher had struck two family members - an 11-year-old child and a 39-year-old woman - using a vehicle reported stolen from Columbia. The victims were injured in the collision, according to the arrest report.

The suspect left the area and was located near Bluff Street and Route Z, where he resisted arrest, according to the FPD.

Buccholz-Belcher was ultimately arrested and taken to the Callaway County Jail to be held on no bond.
