Two people were arrested Tuesday in separate incidents.

Callaway County Sheriff's investigators arrested a New Bloomfield man Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender.

Alan Tighe, 21, was arrested about 9:30 a.m. and booked/processed at the county jail. He was later released after posting a court-set bond of $1,500.

His arrest is the result of a Callaway County Sheriff's Office investigation initiated in February concerning Tighe, a convicted sex offender, not registering with the Sheriff's Office as required by state law.

According to case.net, a public state court access point, Tighe has a pending charge in Callaway County for failing to register a sex offender based on a similar investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office in November.

At 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, deputies arrested a Jefferson City man near Holts Summit.

Ryan Tran, 20, was arrested on the probable cause offense of distribution of a controlled substance (cocaine). He was booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail and later posted a bond of $6,500.

Tran was arrested by Callaway County deputies conducting proactive patrols of Route AA near County Road 4009 outside of Holts Summit. During the patrols, Tran was stopped for a traffic violation that led to the discovery of cocaine.
