Callaway County Sheriff's deputies made four recent arrests.

On Saturday, a Jefferson City man was charged by the Callaway County prosecutor and placed in jail. David Wayne Martin Jr., 23, was arrested Friday following an investigation of a child being harassed and receiving obscene materials.

Martin was charged with first-degree stalking and furnishing pornographic materials to a minor. He was placed in jail with a $9,000 court-set bond.

The investigation was conducted near Holts Summit. It is ongoing and further charges could ensue.

In a separate incident, a Kingdom City woman has been charged after a corrections officer was assaulted in the Callaway County Jail.

Mia Chitwood, 17, faces charges of felony third-degree assault and second-degree property damage, according to sheriff's officials. She is incarcerated at the county jail on a $17,000 bond.

These charges are the result of a disturbance in the Callaway County Jail during the evening hours of Feb. 25. During that disturbance, officials said, Chitwood physically attacked and injured a corrections officer who was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and later released.

At the time of this incident, Chitwood in jail for two counts of assault and resisting arrest regarding a previous disturbance investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office near Calwood on Jan. 26.

Also Saturday, at 3:20 p.m., deputies conducted an investigation at the Callaway County Jail. Ahtari Welch, 39, had been transported to the jail earlier by an outside agency. Deputies found marijuana on his person, and the St. Louis man was booked for an additional probable cause offense of delivery/possession of a controlled substance in a county jail. He posted a court-set bond of $4,500 and was released pending his court appearance.

At 3:56 p.m., deputies arrived in the 5000 block of State Road PP in the Mokane area to conduct an investigation. Deputies contacted Michael Schieders, 29, and determined he was wanted on a Callaway County warrant for probation violation and several Jefferson City municipal warrants. The Tebbetts man was taken to the Callaway County Jail, and his bail was set at $1,130.
