A Fulton man recently discovered he'd won the top prize in the Missouri Lottery's "Sapphire 7s" Scratchers game.
Randy Demery said he made the decision to pick up some tickets as he was leaving the Columbia Moser's Foods location.
"I was buying groceries and had a $10 bill left over," Demery explained. "Something was drawing me to the machine."
Among the tickets Demery bought that day was a "Sapphire 7s" ticket, a game he had never played before. After scratching the ticket, Demery revealed one of the game's six top-prize-winners of $27,777.
"Sapphire 7s" is a $2 Scratchers game that has been on sale since February, with $3.7 million in remaining prizes, including three more top prizes of $27,777. Remaining prize amounts for all Missouri Lottery Scratchers games can be viewed at MOLottery.com.
