Deputy patrols catch 2

Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies made a pair of arrests Tuesday and Thursday.

At 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, deputies patrolling Route OO west of Holts Summit spotted James Niederhelm, 42, operating a vehicle. The Holts Summit man was wanted on a failure-to-appear warrant (the original charge was felony possession of a controlled substance).

Deputies stopped Niederhelm and took him into custody, bringing him to the Callaway County Jail. Niederhelm later posted a $9,000 bond.

At 10:32 p.m. Thursday, a deputy patrolling near Hatton attempted to stop a vehicle on Route M near Route E for a traffic violation. The vehicle's driver, later identified as Jon Wagner, of Moberly, fled with deputies in pursuit.

The vehicle pursuit ended near Kimberley Drive northwest of Kingdom City. Deputies arrested the 49-year-old man for traffic offenses and resisting arrest. Wagner was taken to the Callaway County Jail; his bond was set at $2,000.
