Fulton man apprehended on multiple felonies

Witnesses say man poured gas on family pet

A Fulton man wanted in a Sunday burglary case was caught Tuesday afternoon. 

The Fulton Police Department said Robert Pittman Jr., 32, was taken into custody at around 3 p.m. Tuesday and transported to the Callaway County Jail with a no bond status.

No further details were available, according to the police press release.

Police initially investigated a report of a burglary at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, where Pittman allegedly forced entry into a residence on Vine Street. A person at the residence claimed to have been assaulted by Pittman, who also poured gasoline throughout the residence and on a family pet.

Police said the allegations were corroborated by juvenile witnesses.

Pittman faces felony charges including burglary, domestic assault, child endangerment, attempted arson, animal abuse and armed criminal action. Other charges may be added.

"The Fulton Police Department wants to thank the public for assistance in locating Pittman Jr.," according to Tuesday's release.

Police describe Pittman as 5 feet, 8 inches and about 210 pounds. At the time of the report, he was last seen wearing a white shirt, black jacket and pants.
