Pepper caught, arrested after pursuit

KINGDOM CITY, Mo. - After a foot chase with a deputy, a Columbia man was arrested Monday just west of Kingdom City.

Bryan Pepper, 42, was wanted in Montgomery County for charges of felony tampering with a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy was conducting a criminal investigationat 4:27 p.m. in the 3700 block of Old Missouri 40, west of Kingdom City and came into contact with Pepper. As the deputy attempted to take Pepper into custody, Pepper fled on foot and a foot pursuit entailed.

The deputy was able to capture the suspect.

Pepper was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held on the aforementioned Montgomery County charges, in addition to a Callaway County probable cause offense of felony resisting arrest. Pepper is being held without bond pending a court bond setting.
