HOLTS SUMMIT - Award-winning storyteller Oba William King will be making appearances at each of the libraries in the Daniel Boone Regional Library system, including the soon-to-open Holts Summit Public Library.

Everyone is invited to bring their families to this preview event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holts Summit Public Library, in Summit Plaza, 188 W. Simon Blvd.

Oba William King will also be visiting the Callaway County Public Library next week, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. That library is at 710 Court St., Fulton.

"This will be a fun opportunity for people to get a preview of their new library and enjoy a first-class storyteller, " said Sara Henry, Callaway County Library Services manager. "People can get a peek at what we'll have available and sign up for a library card, if they don't already have one."

A nationally acclaimed storyteller King will share tales from West Africa, the American Southwest and Midwest using rhythm and rhyme to engage the audience. He has performed across the U.S. for audiences of all ages including appearances at the national Storytelling Festival and the Kennedy Center. He is the winner of several awards including the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in Traditional Folk Arts.

The Holts Summit Public Library will open in early March.
