K9s aid in meth, firearm recovery from three arrests

MOKANE - Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies made three arrests and recovered drugs and firearms during investigations Wednesday and Tuesday.

At about 12:30 p.m., deputies arrived in the 9000 block of County Road 445 near Mokane. K9 officer Krieger assisted in an investigation which uncovered methamphetamine, meth-related drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Kristian Chudej, 32, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also wanted on a multitude of Callaway County warrants for past offenses including burglary, stealing, forgery and possession of a controlled substance, according to the arrest report.

As of Wednesday, she was being held at the Callaway County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Cameron McCoy, 24, of Mexico, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a firearm. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail to be held without bond pending a court bond setting.

In a separate investigation Tuesday, a deputy made a vehicle registration-related traffic stop on Business 54 at about 11:45 p.m. K9 officer Iro was called in to aid in the investigation, which recovered methamphetamine and a firearm.

James Murrell, 29, of Fulton, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a firearm. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail and later released on summons.
