Callaway County court briefs

The following cases were heard on Dec. 7, in the Circuit Court of Callaway County, Missouri, Division II, Honorable Jeff Harris presiding:

Norisha Nicole Byers, 27, of Columbia, failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Corelle Dazry Clark, 34, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Clark admitted he possessed more than 90 grams of marijuana in his residence when a search warrant was executed on the property in September 2018. The judge sentenced him to four years in prison but suspended execution of the sentence and placed him on five years of supervised probation. The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and Mustang Drug Task Force.

Sonya Marie Enerson, 39, of Auxvasse, pleaded guilty to charges of burglary in the second degree, felony stealing and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Enerson admitted that in December 2019, she unlawfully entered a building on County Road 311 to commit stealing. She admitted she and two others entered the residence and stole several items, including a television. Enerson also admitted to shoplifting cosmetics at a Fulton business later in December 2019. That offense was enhanced to a felony based on her prior convictions for stealing in 2018 and 2019.

Enerson also pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine in late-December 2019. In that case, Enerson admitted she was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a registration violation. During the stop, the deputy sheriff observed her throw a plastic baggy away from the vehicle. That baggy was recovered and contained methamphetamine. The judge sentenced Enerson to four years in prison for each of the offenses. She was also sentenced to four years in prison on unrelated stealing offenses. Enerson had been on probation for those offenses, admitted that she violated probation by committing the new offenses, and the judge revoked probation. All of the cases were investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Rebecca Sue Graham, 36, of Moberly, pleaded guilty to felony resisting a lawful stop, two counts of misdemeanor property damage and tampering with a motor vehicle. Graham was stopped for a registration violation in August 2019. She claimed to not have her driver's license and provided the name of another person. After she was released from the stop, the deputy sheriff was able to obtain a photo of the person that Graham named, realized the person was not the driver of the vehicle and attempted to stop Graham again, just minutes after the first stop. Graham fled the stop, entering Interstate 70 and traveling at a high rate of speed before exiting on Route M. In the course of the pursuit, Graham left the roadway and damaged crops of two different landowners before abandoning the vehicle, fleeing on foot and taking another vehicle without the consent of the owner.

The judge sentenced Graham to four years in prison for tampering with the second vehicle and seven years in prison for resisting the stop. In those felony cases, the judge suspended execution of the prison sentences and placed her on five years of supervised probation. The judge sentenced Graham to 60 days in jail for each of the misdemeanor property damage charges. The cases were investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Jeannie Lynn Hutchason, 55, of Holts Summit, pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon. Hutchason admitted she displayed a knife in a threatening manner during a domestic dispute in October 2019. The judge placed Hutchason on five years of supervised probation. The case was investigated by the Holts Summit Police Department.

Shaun Hutchason, 35, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to domestic assault in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree and tampering with a victim. Hutchason admitted he physically assaulted the female victim during an incident in early 2020 and that he did so in the presence of two children who were placed in substantial risk of harm during the incident. He also admitted he tampered with the victim of the domestic assault in May 2020 by attempting to get the victim to not cooperate with prosecution or show up at court to testify. The judge sentenced Hutchason to seven in prison on the domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges and five years in prison for tampering with a victim. The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Sandra June Montcalm, 52, of Auxvasse, failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Martin O'Connor, 43, of Holts Summit, was sentenced to four years in prison for the felony offense of resisting a lawful stop. O'Connor had been on probation for the offense. Following a hearing, the judge found he had violated probation by leaving the scene of an accident in March 2020. The judge revoked O'Connor's probation and recommended he complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release. The case was originally investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Dylan Shane Sanford, 26, of Jefferson City, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated (third offense). Sanford admitted he was driving on East Center Street in September 2019 while under the influence of alcohol. The offense was enhanced to a felony based on Sanford's prior convictions for DWI in Callaway County in 2014.

A police officer made contact with Sanford at a Holts Summit business after a concerned citizen reported that Sanford appeared to be under the influence of alcohol while operating a motorcycle. The officer immediately noted the smell of intoxicating beverages coming from Sanford and that he possessed four different alcoholic beverages. The judge sentenced Sanford to four years in prison but suspended execution of the sentence and placed him on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that he successfully complete the Cole County DWI Court program. The case was investigated by the Holts Summit Police Department.

Owen Hunter Tindall, 23, of High Ridge, failed to appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
