Fulton man arrested for possession of drugs, firearm

KINGDOM CITY - A Fulton man was arrested Wednesday for possessing drugs and a firearm.

At 11:23 a.m. Wednesday, Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies investigated a reported suspicious activity incident in the 3000 block of Gold Road, Kingdom City. During the course of the investigation, deputies contacted Caleb Adams, 39, of Fulton. Adams was subsequently found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Adams was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail. He was booked/processed for felony possession of a controlled substance (meth), unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Adams later posted a court-set bond of $6,500 and was released pending court appearance.

Recently, Sheriff Clay Chism said deputies expect to make 83 percent more meth arrests in 2018 than the previous year, and he hopes that will also lessen other kinds of crime including burglary and theft. On Sunday, another Fulton resident, Forest Warford, 28, was found to possess meth, cocaine and marijuana when apprehended. On Oct. 17, eight area residents were arrested after a Callaway County drug search warrant was executed, during which 3.5 pounds of meth, one pound of marijuana, firearms and drug paraphernalia were seized.

On Oct. 15, a wanted Columbia man found hiding in a residential crawl space near Stephens was apprehended with meth. At least 13 other persons have been arrested in October on meth and other drug charges.
