The Fulton Police Department staff is participating in the DEA National Drug Takeback Day.
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 27, an officer will be posted at the Fulton Fire Department, 151 Tennyson Road.
The officer will accept old or unused prescription medications. Needles will not be accepted, nor will illegal drugs of any kind.
The event is designed to discourage people from flushing medications down the toilet or putting medications in the trash, which ends up in a landfill where they can contaminate water systems.
