A Williamsburg man was arrested last week following an investigation of battery thefts, and more arrests are possible.
On Oct. 29 and Nov. 1, Callaway County Sheriff's deputies investigated the theft of batteries from farm and construction equipment in the area of County Road 447 and County Road 448 - Steedman and Portland areas respectively. Throughout the days thereafter, deputies followed-up on investigative leads and identified Chad Laswell, 27, of Williamsburg as a suspect.
As a result of the follow-up investigation, Laswell was arrested Nov. 5 for Stealing and booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail. Laswell was later released on bond pending court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing.
