Felon arrested, found with loaded gun

NEW BLOOMFIELD - A convicted felon wanted on a Callaway County warrant was arrested by a deputy Saturday and was found to possess a loaded gun.

Alan Charles Tighe, 21, of New Bloomfield, was spotted by a county deputy at 12:56 p.m. Saturday operating a motor vehicle on U.S. Business 54 in Fulton. The deputy conducted a traffic stop near St. Eunice Road and took Tighe into custody.

Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, said the deputy knew a felony warrant (receiving stolen property) had been issued for Tighe's arrest and that Tighe, a registered sex offender, had failed to verify his sex offender registration with the sheriff's office as required by law.

While arresting Tighe, the deputy also found him to be in possession of a loaded rifle.

Tighe was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he was booked and processed for the felony warrant, plus unlawful possession of a firearm, fail to register as a sex offender, and several City of New Bloomfield municipal traffic warrants. Tighe is being held on a court-set bond of $14,350.
