Another Route F crash leaves Fulton man with minor injuries

Another crash on Route F in Callaway County left a Fulton man with minor injuries and a totaled car Tuesday - about 24 hours and a couple hundred feet away from another series of crashes on the same road Monday.

Tanner B. Russell, 33, was driving a 2007 Hyundai Elantra east when, at about 4:35 p.m. and about 218 feet east of County Road 323, Russell tried to overtake another vehicle and travelled off the left side of the road, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports.

He overcorrected and ran off the right side of the road. The Elantra struck the ground, overturned and caught fire upon impact.

Russell was wearing a seat belt and was transported by private conveyance to a local hospital for treatment.

Another crash involving a motorcyclist who was seriously injured after he travelled off the right side of the road at County Road 323 happened at about 4 p.m. Monday.

That crash was the first of three along Route F that happened within a few miles over 20 minutes, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports. No fatalities were reported.

A spokesperson for MSHP Troop F said the Monday accidents appeared to be completely unrelated to one another, citing dry and clear conditions.
