If you’re happy and you know it, post a note

Children hold post-it notes aloft at the Super Sam 5K on Saturday. The new, positive endeavor begins today.

Krystal Stegemann hopes today is the start of something big.

Her Post-It Project Challenge — to spread inspirational post-it notes around town — begins today.

“I hope it will burst here in Fulton and then spread,” said Stegemann, owner and American Family Insurance and huge Super Sam Foundation supporter. “Leaving seven positive messages in seven days — it’s harder than you think.”

Stegemann also explained the project Saturday before the Super Sam Foundation 5K Run at Memorial Park. She said she’s also getting businesses involved and giving them specially printed post-it notes.

“It’s a community campaign to push for positivity with messages to be kind,” she added.

Today, she will launch a companion Facebook page: PIP2018. For every “be kind” post-it note people photograph and post on the website, she and others will donate $3 to the Super Sam Foundation.

“I’m excited; I cannot wait to get that up and running,” Stegemann said.

The idea is people can write their own messages on a post-it note and leave it where ever they happen to be. They can leave it on a gas pump, or on a mirror at a restaurant — just somewhere it’s likely to be spotted.

“If somebody finds a message and it speaks to them, then it’s a success,” she added. “If somebody stops for two minutes and thinks about another person, it will be a success. I have fallen in love with this project.”

The project will end June 22. For more information, contact Stegemann at 573-642-6823.
