The Honor Council Committee of Missouri Association of Student Councils has announced the Fulton High School Student Council has been awarded the MASC Award.

Presentations were recently made at the annual MASC convention at Lebanon High School in early March.

This honor is based on an application submitted by the FHS student council as it met criteria established by the Honor Council committee and the MASC Advisory Board. Criteria includes a comprehensive program in promoting student activities and leadership, such as school spirit, service, community service, student and teacher recognition, and leadership training activities.

MASC also recognized advisors Janet Trowbridge and Oly Warner who played a large part in acquisition of this award.

Distinguished student leaders also were recognized at this 70th annual convention. This is the highest recognition bestowed on graduating seniors who have demonstrated superior student council leadership skills and knowledge based on MASC criteria and evaluation. In Missouri, 92 students met criteria. Emma Abbott, Laura Bailey and Kate Pani all earned this distinguished student leader award.
