Job fair, business expo happening Friday

Friday's business expo and job fair promises networking opportunities galore, Callaway Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tamara Tateosian said.

"Business expos are fun because it's an opportunity for our business community to kind of network and see what each other is doing," she added.

The expo will be at the Fulton Event Center at 1915 N. Bluff St. in Fulton from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Admission is free, and there are still booth spaces available for businesses - call 573-642-3055 for more information.

Currently, about 30 businesses have signed up for booths, including AZZ, Danuser Machine Company and many more. Some have job openings.

"New Bloomfield, Fulton High School and South Callaway are all bringing students," she said. "It's an opportunity for them to look at the different job options here in Callaway County for when they graduate."

The chamber is focusing on workforce development and making sure young people stay and build careers in the area, Tateosian added.

Business owners and those interested in the Callaway County business community are welcome to attend as well. Aside from the chance to mingle, there are prizes.

At the Callaway Chamber of Commerce table, attendees can register to win two tickets to the Rhonda Vincent and the Rage concert, happening April 8 at 54 Country. AZZ is giving away two all-inclusive tickets to the April 8 Cardinals game - with a buffet, beer and reserved seating on a patio. There may be other prizes as well.
