Clerk becomes certified ahead of council meeting

Fulton city clerk Courtney Crowson, has been certified a Missouri Registered City Clerk - sustaining by the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association.

She will receive a certificate from Maribeth Matney, the organization's new president, during next year's Spring Institute banquet.

Fulton's city meeting will start with a 6:30 p.m. work session tonight. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Under consideration:

A public hearing to consider the proposed rezoning of a tract of land on U.S. 54 from C-3 to C-2, and Bill No. 1502 to have a first reading;

Appointment of Nancy Lewis to the Fulton Historic Preservation Commission;

A discussion of U.S. Business 54 street lights. The city's portion of the upcoming improvement project has been opened for bids (see June 10 Fulton Sun public notice) until 2 p.m. July 3, when the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud;

First reading of a bill to rename River Valley Road to Easy Street.

The meeting will be at Fulton city council chambers, 18 E. Fourth St., and also will be streamed live at fultonmo.org.
