A Holts Summit man was arrested Thursday following a "neighborhood disturbance," said Lt. Curtis Hall of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

James Clark, 52, was arrested for felony unlawful use of a weapon and a Cole County failure-to-appear warrant for a traffic violation.

At 6:09 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a disturbance involving shots fired in the 11000 block of Morfin Drive near Holts Summit, Hall said. Holts Summit Police Department officers also responded to assist.

Deputies and officers arrived at about 6:13 p.m. and spoke to people in the neighborhood. They concluded that during the course of what Hall described as a neighborhood disturbance, Clark displayed and discharged a rifle.

Clark was transported to the Callaway County Jail and later posted a court-set bond and was released pending a court appearance.
