It was something Fulton police don't see every day.

A naked Fulton man was arrested Thursday for attempting to break into houses - less than a day after being released from prison.

"He was celebrating being released from jail," said Maj. Roger Rice of the Fulton Police Department. "Let's just put it that way."

Thomas Seay, 30, faces charges of resisting arrest, two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of sexual misconduct and two counts of peace disturbance.

The Fulton Police Department received the report just after midnight Thursday, according to Sgt. D.B. McGrath. A caller reported a man was running nude in the area of St. Francis Street and Tyler Street.

Officers investigated and learned the man unlawfully entered one residence but left when confronted by a homeowner. He then attempted and failed to enter another residence, McGrath said.

"I don't know why he was trying to get into the houses because I don't think they knew him at all," Rice said. "I don't think he was really a threat to anybody."

When confronted by officers, Seay fled on foot.

"He was heading towards McDonald's, but he didn't make it nearly that far," Rice said.

A short foot pursuit later, Seay was arrested and taken to the Callaway County Jail, McGrath said. His bare-chested booking photo posted on the Police Department's Facebook page raised questions.

"He is wearing shorts in the mug shot," Rice clarified when asked. "I don't know where they came from."

Rice said Seay likely was intoxicated. As of Thursday morning, Seay was being held without bond, McGrath added.

Seay was released from the Maryville Treatment Center, a minimum-security prison, on Wednesday, according to information from the Missouri Department of Corrections. He had served part of a five-year sentence for second-degree domestic assault, second-degree burglary, resisting arrest and first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.
