3 arrested in drug-related incidents

Three people were arrested recently after two drug-related incidents in Moniteau County.

A drug bust occurred Jan. 20 at a residence on Bacon Bridge Road in Jamestown, according to sheriff's department reports. Deputies spoke with individuals at the residence and obtained consent to search. They located marijuana, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. Kelly Newcomb, 35, and Brandi Britton, 31, both of Jamestown, were taken into custody for one count of possession of a controlled substance.

The second incident occurred Saturday when a deputy stopped a man on a motorcycle on U.S. 50 for registration violations. Deputies found the driver, Nicholaus Abbotte, 39, of Dixon, did not have insurance or proof of ownership of the vehicle. At the Moniteau County Jail, deputies found Abbotte had tried to hide methamphetamine. He now also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
