Several drug-related arrests made this week

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office made multiple drug-related arrests Thursday and Friday.

Two Fulton residents were arrested Thursday evening following a narcotics search, Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, said.

Kevin Scott Jr., 35, and Mary Ella Ashing, 27, were taken to the Callaway County Jail.

At 5:34 p.m., following an investigation with the Mustang drug task force, task force members and deputies executed a narcotics search warrant in the 5000 block of River Hills Road near Mokane.

Deputies found controlled substances including methamphetamine, pills and marijuana, Hall said.

Scott was arrested for two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of Friday morning, he was held at the Callaway County Jail pending a court bond setting.

Ashing was arrested for felony failure to register as a sex offender, and her bond was set at $4,500. In 2009, Ashing was convicted of first-degree statutory rape for having sexual intercourse with a child younger than 14 years old.

Johnathon Thomas, of Fulton, was arrested Friday following a search of a Fulton residence, Hall said.

Deputies on Thursday searched a residence in the 4200 block of Mac Road, locating methamphetamine in the process.

Thomas was taken to the Callaway County Jail and faces a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance. He was released on bond pending court appearance.

On Friday, deputies arrested Fulton resident and wanted fugitive Morris Neal following a traffic stop, according to Hall.

A deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at 2:02 p.m. near Route JJ and County Road 108. During the investigation, Neal, 33, was found to be occupying the vehicle. The deputy also found methamphetamine in Neal's possession, Hall said.

Neal was wanted in Callaway, Audrain and Pulaski counties on several felony warrants, including burglary, domestic assault and non-support of a child. He was additionally arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.

Neal was transported to the Callaway County Jail, Hall said. His bond was set at $24,500, of which $20,000 is cash-only.
