2 arrested in Osage County drug bust

Two people were arrested following a drug bust Tuesday in Osage County.

Deputies were called to the area of County Road 822 for two suspicious persons, according to Osage County Sheriff's Department reports.

The two were found walking in the area and told deputies they lived outside the county and their truck had become stuck.

It turned out other deputies had dealt with the same truck Saturday night and took one of the individuals into custody.

Deputies searched the two and found they were in possession of narcotics and a gun.

Owen Barlow, 48, of Kansas City, was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm. Melanie Gee, 38, of Maryville, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
