STEEDMAN, Mo. - A Portland fugitive was arrested Feb. 6 after giving a false name during a traffic stop, said Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Justin Rothove, 28, was arrested on two Callaway County warrants (felony distribution of a controlled substance and stealing motor fuel) and a Boone County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

At 12:16 p.m., a Callaway County deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle at County Road 133 and Route O near Steedman. While investigating, deputies came into contact with Rothove, who initially gave a different name, Hall said.

After determining Rothove's identity, deputies arrested him and brought him to the Callaway County Jail. His bond is $6,193.50, of which $5,393.50 is cash-only.

Further charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues, Hall added.
