The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a contract to resurface U.S. 54 in Jefferson City.

Capital Paving and Construction was awarded a contract to resurface the eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 54 between Stadium Boulevard and the Missouri River Bridge. The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $3,484,383.

Most of the work will take place during evening hours. However, there will be periodic lane and ramp closures throughout the project. A specific start date has not been set.

The commission also approved a contract to rehabilitate portions of the Bonne Femme Creek Bridge on southbound U.S. 63 in Boone County. E and C Bridge was awarded the contract after submitting the low bid of $430,211.

The bridge work will include repairs to the bridge approach and repairs underneath the bridge. A new acceleration lane will be constructed for the U.S. 63 southbound access from the outer road between Meyer Industrial Drive and Bonne Femme Church Road.

One lane of southbound U.S. 63 will be open during the work, which is expected to take place in early spring. A specific start date has not been set.
