Woman charged with smuggling cocaine into jail

A Kansas City woman was charged with smuggling cocaine into the Callaway County Jail last weekend.

Angela Poulsen, 42, was charged Saturday with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Poulsen was arrested earlier Saturday by an outside agency and transported to the Callaway County Jail. Jail staff suspected Poulsen possibly had drugs on her person. An investigation determined Poulsen had cocaine and a second controlled substance concealed within a body cavity.

Once the prosecuting attorney charged Poulsen with the drug offenses, the court set a $9,000 bond. Poulsen later posted bond and was released pending court appearance.

Callaway County Sheriff's deputies investigated a suspicious activity incident at 8:28 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of County Road 211 in Kingdom City. A local business had reported a suspicious male in the area.

Deputies located the subject and identified him as Zachary Gramke, 38, of Colorado. Gramke was a wanted fugitive in the state of Colorado for a vehicle related offense.

Gramke was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.
