Local resident Zach Frazee was one of three Missouri Civil Air Patrol Cadets chosen to participate in National Blue Beret in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The event was two weeks long, according to his mom, Michelle Frazee. During the first week, cadets learned everything they needed to know for the National EAA AirVenture, which happened during the second week.

The cadets also helped conduct event operations, flight marshaling, crowd control and emergency services.

The EAA AirVenture is the largest annual gathering in the world of aviation enthusiasts.

Frazee earned the Blue Beret through hard work and diligence, along with the pin of St. Alban's Cross. The crest on the pin is in the shape of a shield, which represents the mission of the Blue Berets as protectors of human life, their strength in adversity and the military heritage of the organization.

Frazee is a junior at Fulton High School, where he is an officer in Student Council and Key Club. He also competes in cross country and is in the school play, "Curious Savage."
