Prep for Pitch classes start Monday at the Callaway Chamber of Commerce offices.
"These classes are supposed to prepare (competitors) for that," Chamber Executive Director Tamara Tateosian said.
All prep classes will be at the chamber, 510 Market St., beginning at 6 p.m. Register by contacting Tina at [email protected]. These classes are free and open to the public.
The six-class series includes:
Monday: "Conducting Market Research," presented by Jenny O'Donley.
Tuesday: "Writing A Business Plan," presented by the Missouri Women's Business Center.
Thursday: "Calculating Your Start-Up Costs," presented by Diane Buchli.
Sept. 10: Funding Your Business, presented by The Callaway Bank.
Sept. 11: Picking Your Business Location, presented by Bruce Hackmann.
Sept. 13: Legal Requirements presented by Tom Riley.
The 2018 Pitch Competition will start at 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at the chamber. People who want to participate need to contact Tateosian at [email protected].
"We've got some really cool prize packages this year for first, second and third place," she added.
Prizes include:
First: $3,000 prize money, one-year membership to Chamber, ad space in the Fulton Sun and on KOMU, and more.
Second: $1,500, Fulton Sun ad space and more.
Third: $750, Fulton Sun ad space and more.
