Sheriff's office makes 6 felony arrests

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office made six arrests for felonies during an 18-hour stretch Thursday, Lt. Curtis Hall said.

At 12:53 a.m., a Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy was patrolling the Hatton area. During the patrol, the deputy made a suspicious activity contact with a female, identified as Stormy Harper, 42, of Kingdom City. The deputy determined Harper was a wanted person in Boone County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail, where she is being held on a court-set $20,000.00 bond.

At 8:53 a.m., deputies assisted the Missouri Department of Conservation with a criminal investigation near Hams Prairie. During the course of the investigation, deputies and conservation agents recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Marshall. Subsequently, Christopher Horn, 39, of Marshall, was arrested for the felony charge of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Horn was transported to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held on a court-set $4,500.00 bond.

Jeffrey Nash, 39, of Fulton, was also arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Nash was also arrested for failure to register as a sex offender (third or subsequent offense) regarding another sheriff's office investigation. He was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond, pending a court bond setting.

At 9:38 a.m., deputies were investigating a criminal complaint near Portland. During the course of the investigation, deputies came into contact with Mahalya Camerer, 33, of Portland. The deputies determined that Camerer was a wanted person in Greene County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail, where she is being held without bond, per court order.

At 2:17 p.m., deputies were investigating a suspicious activity incident near Williamsburg. During the course of the investigation, deputies came into contact with Gary Keeton, 28, of Williamsburg. The deputies determined Keeton was a wanted person in Montgomery County and by the Missouri Department of Corrections. Keeton had felony warrants for first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and parole violation. He was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held without bond, per court order. Keeton was also booked for probable-cause Callaway County offenses of possession of marijuana (prior offender) and possession of drug paraphernalia (prior offender).

At 7:09 p.m., deputies received information that Corey Byrd was at a residence in the 3000 block of County Road 338. Byrd was a fugitive from the Missouri Department of Corrections and was also under a recent parole violation warrant. After Byrd would not come to the door, additional deputies arrived. Entry was made into the residence, where Byrd was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Callaway County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
