HOLTS SUMMIT Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies responded at 5:33 p.m. Monday to a reported suicidal person in the 3000 block of County Road 4006 near Holts Summit.
Deputies were advised the subject was armed with a firearm. A Callaway County deputy arrived at 5:40 p.m. and determined the subject was, in fact, armed and inside the residence threatening to discharge the firearm should deputies enter the residence.
Several other deputies responded to assist.
After surrounding the residence for several hours as the subject refused to exit, a team of deputies entered the residence at 11:25 p.m. The subject was found to be armed and was taken into custody. The subject was transported to a Jefferson City hospital by Callaway County EMS for medical treatment.
