Salem man threatens restaurant

A man from Salem has been charged with making a terroristic threat aimed at a Jefferson City business.

Court documents show Logan Barton, 26, is accused of calling the business and saying he would "shoot the place up."

Barton allegedly called Freddy's Frozen Custard on Missouri Boulevard on Tuesday to talk with an employee with whom he had an ongoing ex-parte issue, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

Barton talked with the store manager and, with the officers still at the restaurant, he told the manager: "If you think what you're doing will stop me, you're wrong. I'm gonna come up there and shoot the place up."

The manager said Barton's threats began Friday, and he had threatened to kill the employee.

Barton is currently on probation for possession of a controlled substance and burglary.
