KC man shot in Callaway County domestic disturbance

HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. - A Kansas City man was shot during a domestic disturbance Sunday, according to Lt. Curtis Hall of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Hall did not release the names of the shooting victim or the shooter.

A 11:32 a.m. Sunday, deputies arrived in the 3200 block of State Road AA near Holts Summit, responding to reports of a domestic disturbance and shooting, Hall said. Upon arrival, deputies found a 31-year-old male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

"Deputies made contact with several subjects at the scene, including the shooter, who had remained awaiting deputy arrival," Hall stated. "All subjects, including the shooter, were cooperative with the investigation and at this time, the shooting is being investigated as a possible self-defense incident."

He said that Callaway County EMS, Holts Summit Fire Protection District and New Bloomfield Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing, Hall said, and the investigation's results will be turned over to the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney at its conclusion.

No further information will be released at this time, Hall said.
