A wanted Kingdom City man was arrested late Tuesday, according to Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Hall said deputies spent several days searching the Millersburg area for Boone County fugitive Justin Pembleton, 37. At 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy spotted a vehicle associated with Pembleton traveling on County Road 340, south of Route WW.

The vehicle turned around and drove away from the deputy, who pursued, Hall said. The deputy found the vehicle abandoned near a wood line on County Road 340, and the sheriff's office sent in its K-9 unit.

K-9 officer Iroh tracked Pembleton to an area near the creek, and deputies took him into custody, Hall said. Pembleton was arrested on a Boone County felony failure-to-appear warrant and taken to the Callaway County Jail. His bond has been set at $10,000.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be issued.
