Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has appointed Brouck Jacobs, of Columbia, as circuit judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit, which covers Boone and Callaway counties.

Jacobs will replace Judge Christine Carpenter, who retired earlier this year.

Jacobs has been a prosecuting attorney for almost a decade. Since 2013, he has served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Before that, he had a career in private practice. Throughout his career, Jacobs has tried more than 40 jury trials to conclusion.

He received his law degree from Florida A&M University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He is a member of the board of trustees for the Daniel Boone Regional Library and Columbia Public Library and the Crossing.

"Brouck Jacobs is committed to serving the people of Boone and Callaway Counties," Greitens said. "As a prosecutor, he has worked tirelessly to promote justice and has served with integrity. I am pleased to appoint him as the newest circuit judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit and look forward to him serving for years to come."
