South Callaway board to hear request for social worker

MOKANE, Mo. - During tonight's South Callaway R-2 board of education meeting at South Callaway High School, board members will hear a request for a school social worker.

Amanda Wogan, the district's director of special services, will lead discussion on the topic. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

The board will also discuss the Missouri School Board Association conference, which took place Thursday through Sunday at the Tan-Tar-A resort. During the Sept. 13 meeting, board member Penny Felkner was nominated as the school board's official delegate to the conference.

According to the MSBA website, the annual conference is the largest gathering of education leaders in the state. It includes a trade show and nationally recognized speakers. During that time, delegates also convene to "adopt legislative resolutions" for MSBA.

As usual, the agenda states, the board will hear reports from various district administrators. Board members will then enter an executive, closed session; the agenda does not specify the reason.
