HATTON, Mo. - Hatton Craft Day is still going strong after 45 years.
This year, the event runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Hatton Community Center. Organizers are expecting thousands of visitors to flock to the tiny town.
Vendor booths sold out long ago, according to the event's Facebook page, so visitors can expect a fair packed with handcrafted goodies.
Last year, one vendor pointed out unlike some craft shows, Hatton Craft Day puts the focus on unique, handmade items.
"It's homemade, not made in China," vendor Mary Barner, of Columbia, said of her greeting cards. "It's original; it's a card people save and don't throw away. People even leave these up for decorations for the holidays."
Vendors typically offer everything from woodworking to dolls to crocheted items and far beyond. Fall and Christmas decorations dangle everywhere. Plus, there's usually a hearty selection of baked goods to nibble while you shop.
To get to Hatton, travel west on Interstate 70 from Kingdom City and get off at the Hatton exit (Route M). Go north to Route E, and then west to Hatton. People also may travel north on U.S. 54 and then take Route E west from Auxvasse to Hatton.
